New Delhi, India – India’s automotive sector kicked off the new fiscal year with robust sales figures in April, as reported by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Passenger vehicle dispatches surged by 25.4 percent year-on-year to reach 437,312 units, indicating a strong consumer appetite for new vehicles.
The growth in the passenger vehicle segment was primarily driven by strong performance in utility vehicles and passenger cars. This positive trend extended to other segments as well, with two-wheeler sales witnessing a significant increase of 28.4 percent and three-wheeler dispatches climbing by 32.8 percent.
Overall vehicle wholesales across all categories recorded a notable increase of 27.9 percent. This broad-based growth across the automotive spectrum suggests a healthy demand environment for vehicles in India, despite prevailing global economic uncertainties.
