Workers assemble defense components on an industrial line.
HFCL is set to bolster India’s defence manufacturing capabilities with the establishment of a new facility in the Sri Satya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh. The investment for this project is pegged at ₹230 crore.
This strategic expansion will focus on the production of Multi-Mode Hand Grenades (MMHG) and other related defence products. The facility is designed to achieve an annual production capacity of approximately 40 lakh units, addressing a key area within the domestic defence supply chain.
The move by HFCL underscores a growing trend of private sector participation and investment in India’s defence industrial base, aligning with the government’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
