The recent Bharat Tex 2026 event has successfully generated significant interest and financial commitments within the Indian textile sector. Business inquiries during the event amounted to $2.8 billion, while confirmed textile investments reached ₹14,300 crore.
Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have emerged as key players, proposing substantial investments that are expected to bolster the nationwide textile industry. This surge in interest and investment is occurring against the backdrop of evolving trade policies, including the recently established India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The India-UK FTA is anticipated to provide a considerable boost to India’s textile and apparel export growth. As India actively expands its network of free trade agreements, the government has set an ambitious target for exports to reach ₹9 lakh crore by the year 2030, indicating a strong focus on enhancing global market presence and export revenue.
