VLCC oil tanker "OE MAI TIA" at an industrial port terminal in India
Saudi Arabia is increasing its crude oil supply to India, signaling a recovery in its market share for India’s imports. The kingdom is projected to supply approximately 464,000 barrels per day (bpd) to India in July, based on tanker-tracking data and observed arrivals in the first half of the month.
This increase marks a rebound from the preceding months. Between July 2025 and April 2026, Saudi Arabia had been a significant supplier, providing an average of 700,000 bpd, which constituted about 14.5% of India’s total crude imports. However, its share saw a decline, averaging around 7% in May and June.
The expected supply for July represents a recovery to approximately 10% of India’s crude import market, indicating a renewed strategic focus by Saudi Arabia to bolster its position in one of the world’s largest oil consumers.
