Emergency responders extricate man from industrial machinery
NEW BERLIN, WI – A serious industrial accident occurred on Friday, August 14, at Denali Ingredients in New Berlin, resulting in a man becoming trapped in machinery and sustaining severe injuries. The New Berlin Fire Department was dispatched to the scene around 7:45 a.m. to address what was described as a “complex machinery entrapment.” The rescue operation was extensive, involving multiple agencies and specialists. Firefighters, technical rescue teams, law enforcement, and the company’s maintenance staff collaborated on the complex extrication. Medical support was also on hand, with physicians from Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, including a medical director, and a specialized unit from the Wauwatosa Fire Department equipped for blood administration. The individual was successfully freed at approximately 9:21 a.m. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital in stable but serious condition.
