An official reviews IPTV compliance documents in a busy government office.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) in India has issued a directive to IPTV operators, underscoring the necessity of adhering to the 2008 policy guidelines. This clarification aims to streamline the process for launching IPTV services by emphasizing direct compliance from telecom licensees and cable providers.
Under the renewed directive, these entities are required to submit a self-attested declaration before commencing their IPTV operations. The ministry highlighted that this direct approach is intended to simplify regulatory procedures and eliminate the need for intermediaries.
Furthermore, the MIB has cautioned IPTV operators against engaging with unauthorized third-party consultants, advising them to exercise due diligence and rely on official channels for compliance matters. This move is expected to ensure a more transparent and efficient regulatory environment for the IPTV sector in India.
