Delhi government officials discuss the draft EV Policy 2026.
The Delhi government has unveiled its draft Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026, inviting public and stakeholder feedback to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce vehicular pollution. The policy, slated to remain effective until 2030, outlines plans for comprehensive charging infrastructure, a robust EV supply chain, and various incentives for electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheeler goods vehicles.
A key component of the policy includes financial incentives for purchasing new electric vehicles, specifically two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheeler goods vehicles. These incentives will be tiered over the first three years from the policy’s notification date. The policy also proposes scrapping incentives for older, Delhi-registered BS-IV and below two-wheelers, electric three-wheelers, non-transport electric cars, and electric four-wheeler goods carriers when replaced with new electric vehicles under the scheme.
Stakeholders and the public have a 30-day window to submit their comments and suggestions to the Transport Department via email or post. This initiative reflects the Delhi government’s commitment to promoting clean mobility and reducing environmental impact through strategic policy interventions and incentives.
