Brandon Sheets, son of the late “Storage Wars” star Darrell Sheets, has broken his silence following his father’s death by suicide at the age of 67. In an emotional tribute shared on social media, Brandon expressed his heartbreak and vowed to honor his father’s memory.
Honoring a Legacy
“I love you Dad and I will do my best to live in your honor and respect our Family,” Brandon wrote, addressing his father directly. He urged fans and loved ones to continue building memories and keeping alive the legacy of Darrell Sheets, affectionately known as “The Gambler.” He acknowledged the outpouring of questions and concerns but emphasized the need for time to process the loss and remember the positive aspects of his father’s life.
“The love we all have for this man and all his kindness is only a small portion of who he truly is,” Brandon added, highlighting his father’s inherent good nature.
Investigation into Cause of Death
Fox News Digital confirmed Darrell Sheets’ death by suicide on April 22. Lake Havasu City police responded to a call and found the reality star deceased at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The death remains under active investigation.
In the months leading up to his death, “Storage Wars” co-star Laura Dotson revealed that Sheets had expressed being “terrified for his life” due to alleged cyberbullying. Dotson stated that the harassment had been ongoing for three years and had significantly impacted Sheets, making him feel diminished and fearful for himself and those around him.
Cyberbullying Allegations
The Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed that the cyberbullying accusations are part of their active investigation. Sergeant Kyle Ridgway stated, “We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations, and that is a part of the active investigation.” Fellow “Storage Wars” castmate Rene Nezhoda also shared concerns about the alleged cyberbullying in a video posted to Instagram, urging law enforcement to investigate the individual tormenting Sheets.
Darrell Sheets was a prominent buyer on the A&E reality series “Storage Wars” for over 160 episodes, starting in 2010. His high-risk bidding strategies earned him the memorable nickname “The Gambler.”
