Gujarat seeks investment for 2027 Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, focusing on semiconductors and green energy.
Gujarat is actively seeking global and domestic investment for the upcoming 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in January 2027. The state aims to attract capital into high-growth sectors, with a particular emphasis on semiconductors, green energy, and data centers.
This initiative aligns with the Indian government’s broader strategy to bolster the electronics manufacturing sector, notably through the ‘Semicon 2.0’ scheme. This national policy, backed by an outlay of ₹1.27 lakh crore, supports critical segments of the semiconductor value chain. These include chip design by domestic companies, the manufacturing of capital equipment essential for chip production, semiconductor fabrication plants, and the crucial stages of assembly, packaging, and testing of chips.
The VGGS is designed to serve as a platform for showcasing these investment prospects, aiming to draw significant private equity and venture capital interest. By focusing on these technology-driven and sustainable sectors, Gujarat intends to further enhance its manufacturing capabilities and technological landscape, signaling a strategic push to attract substantial private capital into its economy.
