Indian Bank is projecting substantial growth in its gold loan portfolio, with expectations to surpass Rs 1.5 lakh crore by the conclusion of the fiscal year 2027. This optimistic outlook is underpinned by anticipated increases in loan volumes and continued robust demand for gold-backed financing.
The bank’s management highlighted this growth trajectory alongside positive first-quarter results, which included significant expansion in CASA (Current Account Savings Account) deposits. This indicates a healthy increase in low-cost funding for the institution.
Further strengthening its financial position, Indian Bank recently concluded an overseas bond issuance, successfully raising USD 400 million. The bank also anticipates additional foreign currency inflows through FCNR(B) deposits, contributing to its overall liquidity and international funding capabilities.
