The Indian automotive sector experienced a significant upswing in May, as indicated by the latest data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Passenger vehicle dispatches recorded a notable increase of 27.3%, reaching 4,38,854 units. This surge reflects a healthy demand and strong performance within the domestic automotive market during the month.
Further bolstering the sector’s positive trajectory, two-wheeler sales also saw a considerable growth of 14.8%. The three-wheeler segment demonstrated even more impressive momentum, with dispatches rising by 31.1%. These figures collectively point towards a vibrant and expanding automotive industry in India, potentially indicating increased consumer confidence and economic activity.
