The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has launched the SWAGAM portal, marking a significant step towards the online regularisation of properties in the city. This initiative aims to bring 1,521 unauthorised colonies under a formal framework, simplifying the process for property owners.
Property owners in these areas can now submit their applications online through the newly introduced SWAGAM portal. To support this digital transition, the MCD has also established physical help desks across the city. These desks will be staffed by over 700 professionals ready to assist applicants with the online application process, ensuring accessibility for all.
A key feature of this new system is the expedited issuance of regularisation certificates. Once an application is submitted and processed, certificates are expected to be issued within 45 days. Notably, the process will not require physical verification of properties, streamlining the administrative procedures and reducing potential delays.
This move is anticipated to provide clarity and security for property owners in previously unauthorised settlements, potentially unlocking further investment and development opportunities within these areas of Delhi.
