Haryana’s power distribution companies have petitioned the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) for a relaxation of current rules. The companies are specifically seeking to defer the monthly fuel surcharge recovery process.
Instead of the current monthly recovery, the power companies propose recovering the accumulated amount in subsequent financial years. This proposed change is aimed at achieving a balance between the financial health of the utility companies and the interests of consumers.
The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission is currently considering the request and has opened a period for public feedback before making a final determination on the matter.
