Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) has appointed Manoj Heda to lead its new Singapore-based trading unit, Bharat Petroleum Global Energy Services (Singapore) Pte, according to sources. The unit is slated to begin operations in April.
The Singapore unit aims to identify crude oil purchase opportunities and expand trading in liquefied natural gas (LNG) and refined fuels. BPCL is also developing a new refinery in Andhra Pradesh, indicating a broader strategy to enhance its refining and trading capabilities.
The move signifies BPCL’s strategic intent to strengthen its global presence and optimize its crude oil sourcing and trading operations. By establishing a trading unit in Singapore, a key hub for energy trading, BPCL aims to capitalize on market opportunities and enhance its competitiveness in the international energy market.
