Solar farm construction in a vast, open landscape
Serentica Renewables, a renewable energy company backed by private equity giant KKR, has successfully secured over $1.19 billion through three distinct financing transactions. This significant capital infusion is intended to accelerate the company’s capacity expansion and provide crucial support for renewable energy projects that have experienced delays.
The funding comprises a $345 million loan provided by the Asian Development Bank and other lenders, alongside a $397 million green term loan underwritten by MUFG, which is currently undergoing syndication. These financial arrangements underscore the growing investor confidence in the renewable energy sector and Serentica’s strategic position within it.
Despite facing project delays, the company’s ability to attract substantial investment highlights the long-term demand for clean energy solutions. Serentica Renewables has set an ambitious target to supply over 50 billion units of clean energy annually, a goal that this new financing is expected to help achieve.
