Hands finalize a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement for Juniper Green Energy's 50 MW FDRE project.
Juniper Nirjara Energy has finalized a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN Ltd. for a 50 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project. This significant deal underscores the growing momentum in India’s renewable energy sector, particularly in integrating advanced storage solutions to ensure reliable power supply.
The project will leverage a combination of solar power generation and battery storage technologies to meet its supply obligations. This hybrid approach is crucial for FDRE projects, which aim to provide consistent and dispatchable power, overcoming the intermittency challenges often associated with solar and wind energy.
With this agreement, Juniper Green Energy’s total renewable capacity portfolio expands to 11,216 MWp. This expansion solidifies the company’s position as a comprehensive integrated renewable energy platform, capable of developing, constructing, and operating large-scale projects with sophisticated energy storage capabilities.
The partnership with SJVN, a key player in the power sector, highlights the increasing collaboration between renewable energy developers and established power utilities to drive the clean energy transition. The 25-year tenure of the PPA provides long-term revenue certainty for Juniper Green Energy and ensures a stable supply of green energy for SJVN’s customers.
