Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has initiated strict enforcement by issuing show-cause notices to 76 project promoters who have failed to upload their annual audit reports for the fiscal year 2024-25. This action underscores the authority’s commitment to transparency and accountability within the real estate sector.
Promoters are now mandated to submit these crucial audit reports within a 15-day window. Failure to comply with this directive will result in significant penalties, which could amount to up to five percent of the total project cost, alongside a late fee of Rs 25,000. The UP RERA aims to ensure that developers maintain financial discipline and provide necessary documentation to safeguard the interests of homebuyers.
The requirement for annual audit reports is a key component of RERA’s regulatory framework, designed to provide a clear financial overview of project progress and fund utilization. Non-compliance not only invites financial sanctions but also raises concerns about the financial health and operational transparency of the defaulting developers.
