The Bihar government has taken significant steps to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) by approving amendments to its EV policy. The state aims to achieve a substantial target of 30 percent of new vehicle sales being electric by the year 2030.
To support this ambitious goal, the government plans to introduce a range of incentives specifically designed for electric commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and four-wheelers. These measures are intended to make EVs more accessible and attractive to consumers and businesses across Bihar.
Furthermore, the policy includes provisions for the widespread establishment of charging stations, addressing a critical aspect of EV infrastructure development. This initiative is crucial for alleviating range anxiety and ensuring the convenience of EV ownership.
In parallel with its EV push, Bihar is also launching an Artificial Intelligence Mission. This mission is poised to foster innovation and enhance skill development within the state, signaling a broader commitment to technological advancement and future-ready industries.
