GAIL (India) Limited has entered into a long-term charter agreement with Greece-based Alpha Gas for the LNG carrier ‘Energy Fidelity’. This move aims to enhance India’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping capacity, supporting the nation’s growing energy demands.
The chartered vessel will facilitate the import of LNG from key regions, including the United States and Russia, strengthening India’s energy supply chain. The agreement underscores GAIL’s strategic efforts to reinforce its position as India’s largest natural gas company.
By securing long-term LNG transport, GAIL aims to ensure a stable and reliable supply of natural gas to meet the increasing needs of various sectors in India. This initiative aligns with the country’s broader strategy to diversify its energy sources and enhance energy security.
The partnership with Alpha Gas marks a significant step in GAIL’s ongoing efforts to expand its operational capabilities and contribute to India’s energy infrastructure. The charter agreement reflects the company’s commitment to leveraging international collaborations to achieve its strategic objectives.
