The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to introduce significant changes to its curriculum in the coming years. Starting in the 2026-27 academic year, a three-language formula will be implemented for students in Class 6.
In addition to the language changes, Class 9 students will experience a new two-level system for mathematics and science. This system will include a standard curriculum designed to meet foundational requirements, as well as an optional advanced level for students who wish to explore these subjects in greater depth.
The introduction of these changes reflects the CBSE’s ongoing efforts to adapt its educational offerings to meet the evolving needs of students and prepare them for future academic and professional challenges. The two-level system in mathematics and science aims to cater to diverse learning preferences and abilities, allowing students to pursue their interests and excel in areas where they demonstrate aptitude.
