BSNL's Tower Expansion to Boost FY26 Operating Profit
State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is set to significantly expand its mobile network infrastructure by adding 50,000 to 60,000 new mobile towers. This expansion builds upon BSNL’s existing network of 1 lakh 4G sites, according to recent statements.
The company anticipates double-digit growth in operating profit for the current fiscal year. This projection follows a substantial capital expenditure of ₹20,000 crore dedicated to enhancing its 4G network capabilities.
This infrastructure upgrade is expected to improve BSNL’s service offerings and competitive positioning in the Indian telecommunications market, potentially attracting more subscribers and increasing revenue streams. The investment in 4G technology aims to address the growing demand for high-speed data and reliable connectivity across the country.
The expansion aligns with the government’s broader initiatives to strengthen domestic telecom infrastructure and promote digital inclusion. BSNL’s enhanced network is poised to play a crucial role in extending connectivity to underserved areas and supporting various digital services.
