JSW Energy has announced the acquisition of Maruti Clean Coal & Power Limited (MCCPL) for an enterprise value of Rs 1,410 crore. This strategic move is aimed at strengthening JSW Energy’s thermal power generation capacity and contributing to its ambitious goal of achieving a total capacity of 30 gigawatts (GW) by 2030.
The acquisition includes MCCPL’s operational 300 MW thermal power plant located in Chhattisgarh. This addition is expected to bolster JSW Energy’s existing thermal portfolio, enhance its cash flows, and improve its regional thermal power operations.
The deal underscores JSW Energy’s commitment to expanding its energy generation capabilities within the thermal power sector, aligning with its broader expansion strategy and market positioning.
