New Delhi – The Wedding Company, an online platform focused on wedding planning and services, has successfully closed a seed funding round of $2.75 million (₹26.3 Cr). The round was spearheaded by Wellingdon Advisors LLP, with participation from existing investors LVX and Tremis Capital, as well as new investors Synergy Capital Partner, Vivek Mathur (formerly of Elevation Capital), and Rahul Garg (formerly of Premji Invest).
The infusion of capital is earmarked for expanding The Wedding Company’s reach within India’s substantial wedding market. Key strategic priorities include broadening its network of vendor partners, developing a robust category management function, and enriching its existing wedding services catalogue. Pawan Gupta, co-founder and chief executive of The Wedding Company, stated that the funding validates their strategy of integrating technology with effective on-ground execution to deliver a premium wedding planning experience.
Established three years ago, The Wedding Company aims to simplify the complex process of wedding planning and execution through its end-to-end online platform. The service covers aspects such as venue booking, decor, catering, photography, and guest logistics, assisting clients in managing wedding arrangements within their budgets.
The startup reports a network of over 30,000 wedding venues and 2,000 vendors across India, having facilitated more than 1,000 wedding ceremonies to date. India’s wedding market, estimated at $130 billion, is the second-largest globally, with approximately 8-10 million couples marrying annually.
The Wedding Company’s tech-enabled approach seeks to capture a significant share of this largely unorganized market. The company has reported substantial growth, with service orders scaling from ₹51 Cr in FY25 to ₹115 Cr in FY26, representing a 225% increase. For the current fiscal year, The Wedding Company anticipates executing 1,500 new weddings and aims to achieve ₹350 Cr in service orders.
The company operates in a competitive landscape that includes established players such as Matrimony.com, Weddingz by OYO, and Meragi.
