Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has announced its intention to acquire IntelliSmart Infrastructure Private Limited in a deal valued at Rs 3,050 crore. This strategic move is poised to establish AESL as the dominant player in India’s smart metering sector, creating the nation’s largest smart metering platform.
The acquisition will significantly bolster AESL’s existing infrastructure. IntelliSmart currently manages a substantial portfolio of over 2.2 crore smart meters. Coupled with AESL’s existing order book of more than 2.46 crore meters, the combined entity will command a market-leading position with a total of over 4.7 crore meters under its purview.
This transaction underscores the growing importance of smart grid technology and digital infrastructure within India’s energy sector. The consolidation aims to enhance efficiency, reduce losses, and improve the overall management of energy distribution across the country. The deal is expected to leverage the strengths of both companies, driving innovation and scalability in smart metering solutions.
