Himanshu Ratnoo, formerly the CEO of CARS24’s India used car business, has joined electric bicycle startup EMotorad as a co-founder. This strategic appointment aims to strengthen EMotorad’s senior leadership as the company pursues global expansion and entry into new mobility categories.
Rajib Gangopadhyay, co-founder of EMotorad, stated that Ratnoo’s expertise in scaling consumer businesses will be instrumental in the startup’s next growth phase. Kunal Gupta, co-founder and CEO, emphasized the company’s ambition to establish EMotorad as a leading Indian-origin global electric mobility brand, noting strong domestic market leadership and growing international demand.
Ratnoo highlighted significant recent growth in EMotorad’s European business, reporting a five-fold increase and a robust export pipeline attracting strategic partners. An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Ratnoo brings extensive experience from his previous roles at companies including Food Panda and Barclays, alongside his tenure at CARS24.
Founded in 2020, EMotorad offers a range of electric cycles across various segments and has established a presence with over 800 dealerships in more than 18 countries. The company has secured $25 million in funding from investors such as Panthera Growth Partners, Green Frontier Capital, and Alteria Capital.
