Engineers and workers observe a large steel coil being lifted in a vast industrial facility.
Larsen & Toubro’s Minerals & Metals division has announced it has secured its largest ever domestic metals order from JSW Steel. The deal, valued between Rs 10,000 crore and Rs 15,000 crore, is classified as a ‘mega order’ by the company.
The scope of work involves the comprehensive engineering, procurement, and installation of critical process facilities. This significant order is part of JSW Steel’s ambitious expansion plan to increase its production capacity to over 50 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2031.
The expansion projects are primarily slated for sites in Karnataka and Odisha, underscoring the strategic importance of these regions for India’s steel production landscape. This order highlights robust capital expenditure within the Indian metals and mining sector, signaling continued investment in capacity enhancement.
