Biomass plant in Punjab with agricultural fields
DEE Development Engineers has received a significant boost for its biomass plant in Punjab, with the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) approving a 49% tariff hike. The new tariff is set at ₹5.22 per unit for the next 10 years, inclusive of an escalation clause.
The tariff revision is expected to positively impact DEE Development Engineers’ financial performance, particularly in FY26. According to the company, this adjustment will enhance earnings and provide improved revenue visibility for the biomass project.
This development underscores the ongoing efforts to promote renewable energy sources and support biomass projects in the region. The tariff hike reflects the regulatory support for sustainable energy initiatives and is poised to encourage further investment in the renewable energy sector in Punjab.
