SIE Industrial, a prominent North East-based manufacturer of industrial machinery, has inaugurated a new 11,374 sq ft head office and assembly plant in Sunderland. This expansion, representing a significant six-figure investment, nearly doubles the size of its previous facilities and is strategically designed to enhance production capacity and create over a dozen new jobs.
Founded in 1982, the family-owned business specializes in the design and manufacturing of specialized equipment for the global civil engineering and industrial services sectors. Their product range includes industrial dust extraction, vacuum recovery, and abrasive blasting equipment. The company’s machinery has been deployed in critical infrastructure projects such as naval vessels, airports, the Forth Rail Bridge, and Hinkley Point C, reflecting its established presence in demanding industries.
The expansion is driven by increasing demand from the defense, maritime, and nuclear sectors. In conjunction with the new Sunderland facility, SIE Industrial has also established a presence in the United Arab Emirates. To further bolster its international growth strategy, the company has appointed Gary Taylor as its new strategic relationship director.
Sunderland City Council’s business investment team provided support to SIE Industrial throughout its relocation process, facilitating connections with local business support organizations. This move is anticipated to enable SIE Industrial to continue supplying high-quality equipment and foster innovation within its North East-based team.
