Italian automotive component manufacturer Brembo, in partnership with China’s Ningbo SAFE Brakes Systems, has established a new joint venture in India. The entity, named BRSF Active Safety Solutions, will focus on the production of motorcycle anti-lock braking systems (ABS).
This strategic move is in direct response to India’s upcoming, more stringent safety regulations for two-wheeler vehicles. The joint venture aims to leverage Brembo’s expertise and Ningbo SAFE’s capabilities to meet the growing demand for advanced safety features in the Indian market.
The new company will operate under Brembo’s BYBRE brand, which specializes in braking systems for motorcycles. Production is slated to commence at a dedicated facility located in Chakan, within the Pune district of Maharashtra. This development underscores the increasing importance of safety technology in emerging automotive markets and highlights cross-border collaboration in the automotive supply chain.
