Minister Vaishnaw confirmed the timeline following a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The plant, a venture by Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Pvt Ltd, is expected to significantly contribute to the nation’s chip manufacturing capabilities, with projections of producing millions of chips daily.
This initiative is part of a broader national strategy to bolster India’s presence in the global semiconductor supply chain and attract further investment in the high-technology manufacturing sector.
