Construction on Bhutan’s Punatsangchhu-I hydropower project has recommenced following a seven-year suspension. The 1,200-MW project is receiving financial backing from India.
Dam construction officially began with a ceremony attended by ministers from both India and Bhutan. The project had been previously stalled due to technical difficulties and the necessity for slope stabilization measures.
