Government officials discuss solar project delays at a meeting.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will hold a review meeting with solar manufacturers and developers to address concerns about project delays, according to Secretary Santosh Sarangi. The meeting is scheduled ahead of the implementation of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar cells, set to take effect in June.
The ALMM policy mandates that only solar cell and module models listed on the ALMM can be used in government projects, aiming to boost domestic manufacturing. Delays in project commissioning could impact the renewable energy sector’s growth trajectory and investor confidence.
The review aims to identify bottlenecks and streamline processes to ensure timely project completion. Discussions will likely involve strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions and address regulatory hurdles.
