KisaanSay has successfully raised ₹34 Cr ($3.7 Mn) in its Series A funding round. The investment was led by NABVENTURES managed AgriSURE Fund, also known as Agri Fund for Startups & Rural Enterprises. The company plans to use the capital to strengthen supply chain efficiencies, scale distribution, and expand marketing and hiring initiatives.
Founded in 2023 by Nitin Puri, Manoj Karki, and Vaishali Puri, KisaanSay operates as a “direct-from-origin” food brand. It aims to connect Indian farmers directly with consumers by sourcing and selling authentic farm products, including rice, ghee, oils, spices, dry fruits, and grains.
The startup collaborates with farmer collectives and farmer producer companies (FPCs) across India to procure native agricultural produce. It then sells these products through its website, ecommerce marketplaces, and retail channels.
KisaanSay operates on a co-brand and co-profit partnership model with farmer collectives, working with numerous farmer groups representing tens of thousands of farmers throughout India.
With a portfolio of over 100 SKUs spanning 12 categories, KisaanSay distributes its products through an omnichannel network, including its D2C platform and offline retail in markets such as Delhi NCR.
This funding arrives amidst a growing trend of Indian consumers seeking more health-oriented food alternatives. A new wave of D2C food startups is emerging to meet this demand by offering minimally processed and origin-based products, focusing on premium positioning and transparent sourcing to resonate with their target audience.
Investor interest in this sector is evident through recent funding rounds. For example, farm-to-fork food brand Anveshan raised approximately ₹48 Cr in 2025, and Two Brothers Organic Farms raised ₹110 Cr to expand its organic food portfolio.
This activity is occurring within the rapidly expanding Indian D2C segment, which is projected to become a $300 Bn market opportunity by 2030, driven by continued innovation and the emergence of new players across various categories.
