Auto rickshaws refuel at an Indian Oil LPG station in Karnataka.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is ramping up its auto LPG supply across Karnataka to address the gap created by the closure of private Auto LPG Dispensing Stations (ALDS). The state-run oil major is currently catering to the fuel requirements of auto rickshaws and LPG-powered cars through its network of 55 ALDS across the state, according to a recent company statement.
The move aims to ensure a consistent fuel supply for vehicles dependent on auto LPG, particularly as private outlets cease operations. Indian Oil’s existing infrastructure is being leveraged to meet the demand, providing a stable alternative for consumers and businesses in the region.
This development highlights the role of public sector undertakings in maintaining essential services during market transitions. As private sector participation shifts, IOC’s intervention ensures that the transportation sector’s fuel needs are adequately met, preventing potential disruptions.
