Nazara's strategic fundraise for acquisitions and growth.
Nazara Technologies’ board has approved a proposal to raise over ₹500 Cr through a preferential issue, signaling an aggressive growth strategy. Key investors, including promoter Plutus, Riambel Capital, S Gupta Family Investments, and Classic Enterprises, are set to participate in the fundraise.
The gaming major intends to allocate the proceeds towards strategic acquisitions and accelerating growth across its existing business verticals. Additionally, Nazara plans to extend a loan of ₹4 Cr to its subsidiary, Smaash Entertainment, indicating further investment in its entertainment ecosystem.
Founded in 2000, Nazara Technologies has established itself as a developer and publisher of mobile games. In Q3 FY26, the company reported a net profit of ₹8.8 Cr, a turnaround attributed to strategic adjustments despite a 24% year-over-year decline in top-line revenue to ₹406 Cr.
The fundraise and strategic investments reflect Nazara’s intent to consolidate its market position through acquisitions and organic growth. The company’s focus on expanding its portfolio and supporting its subsidiaries underscores a long-term vision in the competitive gaming and entertainment sector.
