Indian Army officers inspect Prahar light machine guns at an Adani Defence manufacturing facility.
Adani Defence has delivered the first batch of 2,000 indigenously manufactured ‘Prahar’ light machine guns to the Indian Army. The 7.62 mm-calibre weapons were produced at the company’s Small Arms Complex near Gwalior.
This delivery marks a significant step for Adani Defence in contributing to the Indian defense sector’s indigenization efforts. The ‘Prahar’ light machine guns are designed to meet the operational requirements of the Indian Army, enhancing their firepower capabilities.
The manufacturing facility near Gwalior is equipped with advanced technology to produce small arms, supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. This initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign imports and boost domestic defense manufacturing.
The delivery of these light machine guns underscores the growing role of private sector companies like Adani Defence in fulfilling the needs of the Indian armed forces. Further developments are expected as the company continues to invest in defense manufacturing capabilities and secure additional contracts.
