FC Barcelona, one of the world’s most valuable sports brands, is relocating its North American headquarters from Manhattan to Miami’s One Biscayne Tower, signaling a shift towards Florida’s business-friendly climate.
CP Group Managing Partner Angelo Bianco emphasized Miami’s unique combination of geography and cultural makeup, making it an attractive hub for businesses looking to expand in the Americas. He highlighted the supportive local government as a key factor in facilitating the migration of companies to Florida.
FC Barcelona’s move comes as Miami prepares to host seven matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, anticipating as many as 1 million visitors and a $1.5 billion economic impact. The club is finalizing its new office space, with a grand opening planned in the coming weeks.
Bianco noted that Miami’s vibrant atmosphere aligns with FC Barcelona’s brand, making it a natural fit. He also pointed to the multimillion-dollar renovations at One Biscayne Tower, including conference centers, a fitness club, and a health café, as an incentive for firms leaving traditional office spaces.
The city’s recent infrastructure improvements and growing mass transit options further enhance its appeal to tenants. Miami has recently attracted other major companies like Palantir, D-Wave Systems, and Citadel, solidifying its position as a global business hub.
Bianco dismissed concerns about a potential Florida bubble, asserting that the influx of capital and businesses indicates a permanent structural change. He believes Miami is becoming the “Wall Street of the South,” with a diversified economy that will sustain long-term growth.
With nearly 50,000 square feet of new leasing activity at One Biscayne Tower, Florida is emerging as a strong competitor for infrastructure and talent. FC Barcelona’s decision to anchor its future in Miami sends a clear message to legacy business centers: the economic center of gravity is shifting south.
