Legal decision on corporate bids.
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has refused to grant an interim stay on Vedanta’s petition challenging the National Company Law Tribunal’s (NCLT) approval of Adani Group’s ₹14,535 crore resolution plan for Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL).
Vedanta had filed a plea contesting the NCLT’s decision to approve Adani Group’s bid for JAL. The appellate tribunal’s decision allows the Adani Group to proceed with its acquisition plans, pending further hearings on the matter.
The resolution plan, if executed, would see Adani Group taking over Jaiprakash Associates, a company facing insolvency proceedings. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and the final outcome of the legal challenges.
