Groundbreaking ceremony at the new ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India plant in Andhra Pradesh.
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India has initiated the construction of a ₹1.36 lakh crore ($16.3 billion) steel plant in Rajayyapeta, Andhra Pradesh. The foundation stone was laid by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The new facility is projected to produce 17.8 million tons of steel annually, significantly boosting India’s steel manufacturing capacity. The project is expected to generate one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region.
This investment aligns with the Indian government’s push to enhance domestic steel production and infrastructure development. The plant is strategically located to leverage regional resources and cater to both domestic and export markets.
