Oil tanker Aqua Titan diverting from China to India.
India is increasing its crude oil purchases from Russia, with the Aqua Titan tanker now scheduled to dock at New Mangalore port on March 21. The vessel, initially reported to be heading to China, was chartered by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).
This development underscores the evolving energy trade dynamics between Russia and India, particularly in light of global supply chain adjustments and geopolitical factors. The diversion of the Aqua Titan signals a shift in destination, reflecting India’s growing reliance on Russian oil.
The increase in oil purchases from Moscow aligns with India’s strategy to diversify its energy sources and secure competitive pricing. As global energy markets remain volatile, India’s engagement with Russia offers strategic advantages in meeting its domestic energy demands.
